Community Events & Social Coordinator

Basic Function

• The Community Events & Social Media Coordinator plans and executes retail store events for both external and internal customers and prospects

• The Community Events & Social Media Coordinator facilitates the connection between community groups and That Fish Place — That Pet Place

• The Community Events & Social Media Coordinator manages social media accounts and presence and remains up to date on social media practices and procedures

Organizational Relationship

• The Community Events & Social Media Coordinator works with the Marketing Team, and reports directly to the Advertising & Marketing Director & Vice President.

Principal Duties

• Plans & Executes Retail Store Events
• Plans & Executes Community Outreach programs and related pet events
• Coordinates with Ad/Mark to promote appropriate events
• Receives and Coordinates Donations and Sponsorships with the local community
• Upkeeps company mascots and coordinates employees/volunteers for events
• Monitors Local Online branding and events promotion
• Works to help promote community related pet events on company social media channels
• Promotes retail brand initiatives through local channels & social media

Entry Qualifications

• Must be organized and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow employees, volunteers and community members; both verbally and written
• Organization is a must. Candidate must demonstrate extreme organization and planning skills
• Must be able to manage time effectively and switch between tasks as required
• Customer Service Skills are a MUST. You will be the sole representative of the brand in many circumstances
• Must be able to manage a budget effectively
• Candidate must have a working knowledge of all social media platforms
• Candidate must have a working knowledge of Internet technology
• Candidate needs to have a working knowledge of pet care, products and/or categories
• Skills in photography, Excel, and other management tools are not required but highly encouraged
• This position is very dynamic. The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable and eager to expand their knowledge and skills
